POE to obtain information from travel agent

RTI application:

1. The appellant filed an RTI application dated nil seeking information regarding: “date and mode of posting and Bar Code No. if sent by speed post my letter to Shri M. Sooriyanarayanan PGE Office along with PDE Kotchi letter dated 17.12.2014; attested copy of reply by RA Gulf India Tours and Travels R. C. No. B-193/KER/PER/0001/3/3501/1992 to the show cause notice dated 5.12.2014 as mentioned in letter dated 17.12.2014” etc.

6. The appellant said that he needs copy of civil court verdict of UAE in his appeal case. The appellant further stated that he has checked the file of the respondent and the said document is not available in the file.

7. The respondent said that they will collect from the registered recruiting agent copy of civil court verdict in his appeal for onward transmission to the appellant.

Discussion/Observation:

9. The respondent should provide to the appellant copy of the records selected by him during his inspection, free of cost.

10. The respondent should take action as per paras 7 above within 30 days of receipt of this order.

Decision:

11. The respondent is directed to take action as per paras 9 and 10.
