Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, Section 227 - Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, Sections 3(2)(5A) - Indian Penal Code, 1860, Section 306 - Rejection of discharge application - Abetment to suicide - Plea that opposition of the applicants to the marriage only because the victim belonged to the Scheduled Caste - Victim was working as an airhostess committed suicide on account of such a broken relationship with the accused no.1 - Accused no.1 was in a love relationship with the deceased for 7 to 8 years - There is a very vague and general allegation in the statement of another witness who says that the family members of the accused no.1 were opposed to him marrying the deceased - Materials on record were insufficient to constitute the alleged offenses against the applicants - Applicants' mere expression of opposition to the relationship, without any further evidence, was insufficient to attract the ingredients of the alleged offenses - Rejection order quashed - Discharge application allowed.
