Regarding the information sought within 48 hours, it is necessary to dispose of the first appeal and second appeal also within 48 hours: Central Information Commission

 * Under Section 7(1) of the RTI Act, there is a provision to give information related to the life and liberty of a person within 48 hours when asked for in RTI.
 But if such information is not given then when should the first appeal and second appeal be filed?
  There is no provision in this regard in the RTI Act.

 * The Central Information Commission has clarified the position in this regard in an order,
 The information of which has been sent by RTI advisor of West Bengal Mr. Ashish Narayan Biswas.

 * This information is being published below.  According to this, the first appeal and second appeal related to such information should also be disposed of within 48 hours.

 " the judgment of Hon'ble CIC passed in the Case No:-CIC/BS/A/2016/001238; Amrika Bai V. PIO, EPFO, Raipur.
 It has been categorically stated that Life & Liberty matters must be decided within 48 hours be it First Appeal or second Appeal.
