Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948 (UDHR)

 UDHR clearly states that every person should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.  Article 5 of the UDHR deals with the issues of torture and cruelty.  According to Article 5 of the UDHR, no person shall be subjected to torture or cruel treatment irrespective of the geographical location of the person.
