Complaint regarding NON-RECOVERY OF RENT

Sub :: NON RECOVERY OF RS. 29,24,46,480.00 FROM M/S DHAVANAM JEWELERS PVT. Ltd., TOWARDS RENT AS AT THE END OF 31.3.2019.

A commercial complex situated in Madivala, Bangalore, has been leased to M/S Dhavanam Jewellers at an annual rent of Rs. 5,14,67,448/- .  However it is reported in Page Nos. 412 and 413 of Final Audit Report of Bruhath Bangalore Mahanagara for the period 2018-19 that a sum of Rs. 29,24,46,480.00 is due from them towards arrears of rent as at the end of 31.3.2019. A copy of the extract of Audit Report is produced herewith as Annexure-A.

The Assistant Revenue Officer, Market (South) and Revenue Officer, Market who are responsible for recovery of above amount have not taken any action to recover the same till date even after filing application under RTI on 7.7.2022 and a First Appeal on  8.8.2022.

It is also learnt that  rent for the period 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 is also yet to be recovered from M/S Dhavanam Jewellers and thereby a total approximate amount of Rs. 50 Crore plus interest is due from them as on date.

We therefore request you to initiate appropriate action in the matter for recovery of above amount immediately failing which we will be constrained to take up the matter before the appropriate authority in the public interest.
