Posting in a district having immovable property

30. A Government servant should not ordinarily be posted to his native District or allowed to acquire land within the revenue District or Taluk in which he is serving. Permission to do this should be granted only in veryspecial circumstances. He may usually by permitted to acquire immovable property outside the revenue District or Taluk in which he is Serving. But when, on transfçr to a District or Taluk in which he holds immovableproperty, a Government servant makes a special report required by rule 41, the authority responsible should ordinarily transfer him to another District or Taluk. Note:—Gazetted Officers employed in Educational, Technical and Research Institutions and Non-Gazetted Officers who are not entitled to exercise discretion in the course of their duties may be exempted from the provisions of the above rule.
