6. The Commission further in its earlier decision bearing No. CIC/SM/C/2011/000712 dated 16.02.2012 titled as Shri A C Chaturvedi Vs. CPIO, High Court of Jabalpur, in which the Commission held that “we consider the High Court a Central Public Authority and not a State Public Authority for the simple reason that it has not been set up by the State Govt. Being a constitutional authority and having been set up by the Central Govt, the High Court is a Central Public Authority and, therefore, comes within the appellate jurisdiction of the Central Information Commission.”
