Powers under Rules 26 and 29

Abstract:—Kerala Government Servants' Conduct Rules—Powers under Rules 26 and 29—Delegated to the Heads of DepartmentsModified—Orders issued. - S.R.O. No. 89/90—In exercise of the powers conferred under rule 96 of the Kerala Government Servants' Conduct Rules, 1960 and in supersession of the orders issued in G. 0. (Ms.) 57/82/P & ARD and published as S.R.O. No. 1488/82 in the Krala Gazette No. 48 dated the 7th Decembr, 1982 the Government of Kerala hereby direct that the power exercisable by it under rules 26 and 29 of the said Rules shall be exercisable also by the Heads of Departments in respect of the employees in their respective Departments. This order shall be deemed to have come into force on the 19th day of November, 1982. By order of the Governor, LizziE JACOB, Secretary to Gpvernment.

Explanatory Note In the Government Order (Ms.) No. 57/82/P&ARD. dated 19-11-1982 (S.R.0.. No. 1488) the enabling provisioin under which the delegation was issued was not cited in the preamble. The wording of the G. 0. was also not in accordance with the wording of Rule 96 of the Kerala Government Servants' Conduct Rules, 1960. Therefore. it is necessary to issue a modified order rectifying these defects. This order is intended to achieve the above object.
