How to file writ petition offline?

 1. Get the Form/Forms to File a Writ Petition A person seeking to protect his fundamental right can file a writ petition in the concerned court i.e. High Court or Supreme Court.  The petition should be filed only in the prescribed form/forms given by the concerned court.  The prescribed form for filing a writ petition in the Supreme Court can be obtained from there.  For High Courts, there are separate forms prescribed by each High Court, which can be obtained from the website of the respective High Court.

 2. Draft the petition After collecting the form from the concerned court, it is necessary to fill the following information in the petition:

 Name and other information of the person filing the petition.

• Name and other related information of the person/entity against whom the petition is being filed.

 • Which fundamental right of the victim has been violated?

 • Demand for justice raised by the victim.

 Due to raising demand.

 • (If the petition is being filed in the Supreme Court) Has the case been filed in any High Court?  And if so, the order passed by that High Court.

 3. Attach documents if necessary,

 • If the petition is against an order of the lower court, the original or a certified copy of such order should be attached to the petition.

 • Affidavit/Affidavit of the facts of filing the petition.

 Any other necessary document.  If any document is not with the petitioner in original form (hard copy), a list of such documents should be attached to the petition.

4. Submit the petition After the petition has been completely drafted, it should be submitted to the filing counter of the Supreme Court or the concerned High Court, as per the preference of the petitioner.
