ritish officials serving in India were not given public positions/responsibility on returning to England.

British officials serving in India were not given public positions/responsibility on returning to England. The argument was that they ruled a slave nation that would have changed their attitudes and behavior. If they are given such responsibility here, they will treat free British citizens the same way. To understand this, read the incident given below...
A British woman whose husband was a civil service officer in Pakistan and India during the British rule. The woman spent many years of her life in different parts of India, on her return she wrote a beautiful book based on her memories.
The woman wrote that when my husband was a district deputy commissioner my son was about four years old and my daughter was one year old. Lived in a mansion built in many acres that the Deputy Collector met. Hundreds of people lived serving DC's home and family. Every day there were parties, the district's big landlords were proud to invite us to their hunting events and honoured everyone we visited. Our pride and hobby was such that even the queen and royal family would be difficult to find in Britain.
During the train journey, a plush compartment equipped with Nawabi That was reserved for the family of the Deputy Commissioner. When we boarded the train, the white cloth driver would stand in front of us with both hands tied and ask for permission to begin the journey. Trains start running only after getting permission.
Once we boarded the train to travel, according to tradition, the driver came and asked for permission. Before I could say anything, my son was in a bad mood for some reason. She told the driver not to drive. The driver said while bringing the order, which is the order small government. Shortly later the whole staff including the station master gathered and started begging from my four year old son, but he refused to run the train. Finally, with great difficulty, I convinced my son to drive the train on the promise of many chocolate and the journey began.
After a few months, the woman returned to the UK to meet her friends and relatives. He arrived on the ship to London, his residence was in a county in Wales for which he had to travel by train. The woman went to the station to get tickets by sitting her daughter and son on a bench. It was too late because of the long queue that left the woman's son very upset. When he boarded the train, the child again got angry seeing first class seats instead of the plush compound.
The train started its journey on time so the child started screaming and screaming. He was loudly saying, What kind of an owl's that driver. He started running trains without our permission. I will tell my dad to get him shoes. The woman was finding it hard to convince the child that it is not her father's district, it is a free country. Third class govt officer like Deputy Commissioner here so not even Prime Minister and King have the authority to insult people to satisfy their ego.
Even though we have chased out the British today, we have not yet dismissed slavery. Even today many officers, SP, ministers, advisors and politicians harass common people on the streets for hours to satisfy their ego.
Protocols should be for the convenience of the general public, not the cause of trouble for them.
