Private practice banned for a teacher (Medical Officer) in Government Medical and Dental Colleges
PERSONISEL AND ADMINISTRATIVE REFORMS (ADVICE-C) DEPARTMENT NOTIFICATION GO. (P) No. 15120091P&ARD. Dated, Thinivananthapuram, 7th Octobei 2009 S. R. 0. No. 835/2009.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Keiala Public Services Act, 1968 (19 of 1968), read with section 3 thereof, the Government of Kerala hereby make the following rules further to amend the Kerala Government Servants' Conduct Rules, 1960, namely:- RULES 1. Short title and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Kerala Government Servants' Conduct (Amendment) Rules, 2009. (2) They shall be deemed to have Come into force on the 1st day of October, 2009. 2.. Amendment of the Rule—In the Kerala Government Servants' Conduct Rules, 1960, to rule 50, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:- tProidd that a teacher (Medical Officer) in Governient Medical and Dental Colleges in the State shall not examine or treat patients outside duty hours at his residence or at the residence of the patients and shall not be allowed to have private practice of any nature". By order of the Governor, TEEKA RAM MEENA, Secretaly to Government. Explanatory Note (This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.) As per G. 0. (P) No. 318/2009/H&FWD, dated 10th September, 2009 and G. 0. (P) No. 344/2009/H&FWD dated 1st October, 2009 Government have banned the private practice of doctors in Government Medical/Dental colleges in the State for upkeeping the quality of Medical/Dental education in the State and to upgrade Government Medical/Dental Colleges in the State to the centers of - excellence. Hence it is decided to amend the Kerala Government Servants' Conduct Rules, 1960 accordingly. This notification is intended to achieve the above object.
